Each Wednesday Good Shepherd Community Church holds a weekly Healing School service.  The purpose of this Healing ministry is to teach the body of Christ what God has provided for them.  The Greek word "Sozo" in the New Testament is the word that is translated Saved.  It is the word that most Christians believes simply means to get Saved.  The word Sozo, however, has a far greater and deeper meaning that most Christians do not even realize.  While the word includes being saved from sins, it also includes being saved from destruction, peril, to be kept safe, and to be saved from sickness and disease or "healed."  Sozo not only includes Spiritual healing (salvation), but emotional and physical healing as well.  Jesus Christ provided all we would need to be completely restored through His atoning sacrifice.

We believe that Bibilical healing is for today.  We beleive it is available for every Christian who will believe and receive that healing.  Over the next several months we will look at the Bible as our guide.  We will not use man's ideas, but we will look to the scripture as our source to help everyone discover that God still heals.  Some of the topics to be covered include:

• Where does sickness and disease come from?
• Does God still heal?
• Is it God's will to heal, or does God want me sick?
• Does God heal some and others He allows to be sick?
• Does God bring sickness upon people?
• Does God allow sickness?  Why or why not?
• Is God teaching me something through sickness?
• What about Uncle Joe?  He loved God but he still became sick.
• What are some of the blockers to receiving healing?
• Why do sickness and disease come back?

Each Healing School service will include a time of teaching from the Bible regarding the area of healing.  Each teaching session will end with a time of communion and worship at which time we will anoint and pray for all who desire special prayer.

The name we have given to this ministry is Healing School.  The reason is that this is to be an educational experience to learn what God has for His children.  While we pray and believe for miracles to occur, we believe many more will learn the Word of God and be able to apply to their specific need and receive healing.  As with any course, a person cannot expect to learn all there is to learn in a single session.  We encourage everyone to attend each week, take notes and seek God for insight and understanding.

Healing School  is open to everyone who would like to learn more about the healing of Jesus Christ or receive healing from Jesus Christ.
